Today, we will talk about advancement in genetics, which is a really awesome topic to discuss with you.

From a prehistoric resurrection to monkeys with human brains here are the most unbelievable yet real recent genetic research super-strong beagles dogs have long been known as man's best friend due to their loyalty and comforting nature, in fact, owning a dog has been proven to actually extend your life and decrease the prevalence and severity of depression in some people.

Truly we don't deserve the wonder that is a dog, unfortunately, our love of puppies has led to some unsavory breeding practices and small gene pools resulting in certain breeds having a high prevalence of certain illnesses in beagles.

For example, there's an elevated risk of developing muscular dystrophy, a disease that attacks the muscles and nervous system and makes everyday life quite difficult. Scientists in China were able to use the CRISPR genome editing tool to isolate and delete the gene that usually causes the disorder from a pair of beagle embryos resulting in puppies that are free from the disease.

The two dogs named Hercules and Tango are also incredibly muscular due to their muscle growth being uninhibited. The Chinese scientists who perform the 20-15 procedure believe that there may be some tangible human benefiting potential in these treatment styles and plan to test further.

But no attempts were made to place the embryo into a situation which would allow full gestation or further formation of fetal cells.

Researchers say they were successful in removing the damaged gene and feel that they can take it further and actually edit a gene to produce a living human which they plan to work towards as the ultimate goal of the project living dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years outside of films and pop culture.

This fact is well known and taught in the earliest of science classes some scientists though plan to change this by creating living breathing dinosaurs in 2015.

Actually, It was finally announced that Harvard geneticist George Church, as well as his colleagues, used gene-editing tool CRISPR to insert genes for various characteristics and common to wooly mammoths including small ears as well as subcutaneous fat and hair length and color into a series of elephants skin cells.

The last mammoths died out a relatively short period compared to the other dinosaurs at just 3,600 years into the past for the last subspecies to go extinct. Researchers do say that there will not be a walking mammoth anytime soon but they do plan to attempt creating one.

Once the technology is available Jurassic Park fans might get to live the movie within their lifetime sans the Dino attack and the angry t-rex hopefully DIY organs in October.

Scientists met to speak over the newest advancement in genetic research known as CRISPR a process that allows one to edit genes with relative ease many called for limitations on the process to unethical editing of human embryos or modifications that may be detrimental to a species or simply immoral.
